Private Nature Reserve

In our private nature reserve located in Ñacuñan, Santa Rosa, in the arid central area of Mendoza province, we are committed to protecting and restoring native wildlife in a safe and resilient environment. As a first step, we are carrying out a biodiversity research program using camera traps, a tool that allows us to detect species in a non-invasive way.

The first results are inspiring: we have already made remarkable discoveries that highlight the richness and value of this area as a haven for wildlife. These findings not only strengthen the case for conservation but also inspire the community to join us in safeguarding our natural heritage.

In addition, we are developing the protected area management plan, which will serve as a strategic guide to ensure long-term conservation and the implementation of comprehensive actions in habitat restoration and environmental education. As part of this plan, we are implementing sustainable livestock management, as a way to align local production with ecosystem conservation.

We are also working to integrate the reserve into UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme, given its location adjacent to the Ñacuñán Biosphere Reserve, which will enhance ecological connectivity and strengthen protection of this unique arid region.

This project lays the foundation for future conservation actions, habitat restoration, and environmental education, ensuring that the reserve remains a sanctuary for Argentina’s biodiversity.
